What sounds do we have in English that are not reproduced in Spanish?

  1. One very definite thing that we have in English that they do not have in Spanish is... our vowels have a long and short sound along with the fact that when vowels occur in pairs only one may talk or they may take on a different sound all together. In Spanish it is pretty much WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get).

  2. This is not about sounds but English has contractions Spanish does not.

  3. Cognates are very important for language learning. Spanish and English share about 30-40% of their words together. A cognate is a word that is the same or very close to the same. No is the same in English and Spanish.
