Environment

One of my granddaughters lives in the dry part of Kansas and the other lives in the Alabama. Upon seeing the hotel's swimming pool my Kansas granddaughter says yeah a pool. My Alabama granddaughter sees the input streams of the pool and goes "river" she is only two. I was amazed at how the environment they have grown up with has shaped their vocabulary. One saw the whole one saw the part.
